Hector and Caitlin Magliochetti
In 2015 Hector, Caitlin and their 3 children lived in a 12 X 24 storage shed in the backyard of Caitlin’s grandmother’s house. They are now the proud owner of a 5 bedroom, 2 bath home located in Middleburg. What a difference a few years make.
The journey this family has traveled is incredible. It is a true testament of their faith, hard work, and determination to live a better life. Shortly after moving into their new home, Hector began working in the Habitat Restore. Caitlin completed her degree and became a registered nurse. She was 9 months pregnant with their third daughter when she was notified their home was ready for move-in. Hector wept as they received the news and Caitlin sobbed silently. The very next day she gave birth to their daughter, Avalina, who is now four years old. There has been an addition of two more daughters since that time.
The Magliochetti’s are extremely grateful to Habitat and the community who helped them realize a dream they thought would not materialize. They completed the required 500 sweat equity hours and made the modest down payment and they are still giving back. They began serving on the Family Support Committee, helping current partner families prepare to become homeowners and, they participate in every affiliate event.
Hector and Caitlin are excellent examples of our Clay County Habitat homeowners demonstrating we are doing the right thing in providing a “Hand Up-Not a Hand Out.”
In Clay County we have constructed or rehabbed 166 homes since 1977. We have made a positive impact on adults and children in this community. We can now proudly say our new homeowners are helping to boost the local economy by being tax payers. Additionally, the building of homes generate jobs in Clay County.
Clay County Habitat is not able to produce affordable housing alone. It takes help from the entire community, as well as other organizations, to make a difference. As we start another year, we want to take this opportunity to tell you how much we appreciate your support and we ask that you consider helping us again. Your tax deductible donation can be made via our website at www.Clayhabitat.org or mailed to Clay County Habitat, P.O. Box 240, Orange Park, FL 32067-0240.
Our office and Restore is located at 1717 Blanding Blvd, Middleburg, FL 32068.
