Meet Our CORE Volunteer, Steve!

Steve Webster joined Clay County Habitat for Humanity in March, making a significant step in his journey after retiring from federal services a year ago, where he specialized in the engineering and energy fields. He relocated to Clay County in 2017 from Ohio when he transferred to the area with the Navy. Since retiring, Steve has enjoyed sleeping in, cultivating his garden, and working on his home-project list. Recently, Steve decided to embrace a new hobby inspired by his son – he has taken up discus throwing and actively participates in the Senior Games. His motivation to volunteer for Clay Habitat comes from how dedicated his career was to helping essential companies like the US Navy and hospital facilities. He wanted to continue to be able to do something that directly impacts the people in the community. Steve appreciates the camaraderie at Clay Habitat, emphasizing how well everyone works together towards a shared goal of improving the lives of their neighbors. He values the supportive environment and the valuable “hands-on” insight on the tips and tricks for home construction!
